Untold UK: Vinnie Jones 2026 Movie Review
Netflix’s Untold: UK – Vinnie Jones is a polished and surprisingly engaging documentary that takes a look at the life and career of Vinnie Jones, covering both his football years and his transition into acting. Even for someone like me who has never really been massively into football, I still found this documentary very watchable because Vinnie himself is such a larger-than-life personality.
The documentary does a solid job of showing how he became famous as one of English football’s toughest and most controversial players before eventually moving into Hollywood and building a second career as an actor. It balances the football side with the entertainment side quite well, so it never feels like it’s only aimed at hardcore football fans. That was definitely a plus for me.
Personally, I’ve always preferred Vinnie Jones as an actor more than as a football figure. One of my favourite performances from him was in EuroTrip, where he completely stole the scenes he was in. The man somehow managed to make a crazed football hooligan both intimidating and hilarious at the same time. I also think he was fantastic in the underrated action film The Condemned. That movie never seemed to get the attention it deserved, but Vinnie played his role brilliantly there and brought a real rough-edged charisma to the screen.
What makes this documentary work is that it feels thoughtfully made rather than rushed together. The interviews are well presented, the pacing is smooth, and the production quality is high throughout. It gives enough background for people unfamiliar with his football career while also reminding viewers why he became such a recognisable face in films afterwards.
Overall, this is a solid documentary and a good watch whether you know Vinnie Jones mainly from football or from movies. More than anything, it reminded me that he still has a strong screen presence, and honestly, it would be great to see him appear in more films again in the future.
