I went into The Faithful: Women of the Bible with an open mind, and after watching the first episode, I can confidently say it deserves every bit of a 10-star rating.
From the very beginning, the series draws you in with its rich atmosphere, strong performances, and a fresh perspective on stories many of us think we already know. Rather than feeling like a dry retelling, it brings emotional depth and humanity to its characters, making them feel real, complex, and relatable. The storytelling is engaging and thoughtfully paced, leaving me genuinely invested by the time the episode ended.
What stood out most to me was how the episode centered the emotional journeys of the women, giving them a voice and presence that felt both powerful and overdue. It’s a refreshing take that adds new layers to familiar narratives.
I’m especially excited for next week’s episode featuring Rebekah, and even more so because it includes Tom Mison as Isaac. I’ve been a fan of his ever since Sleepy Hollow, where he portrayed Ichabod Crane so brilliantly. He brings a unique presence and depth to every role, and I have no doubt he’ll make next week’s episode even more compelling. It’s always a treat to see him on screen, and I genuinely hope to meet him in person someday.
Overall, this premiere was a strong, engaging start to the series. If you’re on the fence because of negative reviews, I’d strongly encourage you to watch it for yourself. Chances are, you’ll find it as captivating and worthwhile as I did.
