Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web 2026 Tv Show Review
Taskaree takes a look at what has been a generally less explored and not often considered a glamorous enough section of the security forces of the nation. The Customs while, they get passing reference, I cannot remember another show or movie from the past that covered this group so extensively.
Secondly, the procedural aspects are also quite well covered and the research that has gone on in the background is not just superficial but sufficient from the perspective of a series.
Thirdly and most importantly is the direction and screenplay which has made this show more than just watchable.
Now coming to the cons, starting with the casting. While Emraan stands out and so does Anurag Sinha, some of the cast disappoints especially Sharad Kelkar and some of the other caricaturish villains who are over the top and almost comical.
Playing a larger than life villain who ruthlessly leads a global syndicate is a tough challenge and the contrasting menace and charisma needed to play this is not something that is in Sharad Kelkar’s arsenal. He looks ordinary and his menace seems forced and lacking bite.
The plot is good and solid but some of the twists are manufactured but overall it is engaging and you’re invested in the characters and sequence of events most of the time bar a few exceptions.
This is a good watch and will pass your time without complaint so do catch it if you have time.
