Camp Rock 3 2026 Movie Review
Camp Rock 3 left me excited and disappointed at the same time because there is genuinely a good movie buried inside this sequel, but the screenplay rushes through so much of it that the potential never fully develops. The basic storyline works, but the romantic relationship happens far too quickly, the competition feels rushed, and the consequences of the characters’ choices are barely explored. Even the final five are obvious almost immediately, which isn’t necessarily bad, but the buildup should have been much more exciting.
The new cast is where the movie really shines. Malachi Barton does a great job as Fletch, although I wish they had committed to the bad-boy arc they teased instead of turning him into such a soft character. Liamani Segura is fantastic as Sage. Her competitiveness, emotional storyline, and relationship with her brother give her plenty to work with, and she absolutely feels like a future star. Hudson Stone also surprised me as Desi. He’s charismatic, a strong singer, and has the potential to become a major heartthrob.
Lumi Pollack is adorable as Rosie, but her character’s transition from cello player who claims she can’t sing to suddenly becoming a pop star felt completely unearned. That’s another example of the screenplay skipping important development.
I also felt the troublesome trio were wasted. They were supposed to create conflict, yet their actions had almost no consequences. Demi Lovato’s brief appearance as Mitchie was another disappointment because she barely contributes to the story.
There are positives, including Sherry Cola’s consistently entertaining performance, but ultimately this feels like the weakest Camp Rock installment. The new cast has enormous potential, but the rushed screenplay doesn’t give them enough room to truly shine.
