Untold UK: Jamie Vardy 2026 Movie Review

Jamie Vardy started out as a non league footballer and working in a mobility aid factory, but his stratospheric rise came relatively late in life, where he helped guide Leicester City to Premier league glory.

One of the best of the Untold installments I’ve seen so far, this is a terrific 90 minutes.

This documentary perfectly highlights the sensational rise of Jamie Vardy’s meteoric rise from the unknowns of non league football, to getting his hands on the most prized trophy in domestic football. It’s real Roy of the Rovers stuff.

I follow football meticulously, and as someone that isn’t a Leicester City fan, I’ve always watched him with huge admiration, after this my admiration has turned into absolute adoration, the man is unfiltered, unedited brilliance.

Footballers these days are so sanitised, so rehearsed, they’re almost like politicians, Vardy is the polar opposite, totally unrehearsed, to this day he still doesn’t seem like a natural in front of camera, and that’s great.

What Leicester would have done to have had a Jamie Vardy figure this season. I still find the Ranieri decision baffling even now. It remains a sensational story, in this day and age where money in football doesn’t just talk, it dominates, the Leicester story was a true piece of magic.

It’s an incredibly well made documentary, with some fascinating insight and great interviews, I came away from this with an even greater appreciation.
