The Plastic Detox 2026 Movie Review
By now, most of us know that microplastics are everywhere. Not just in our garbage cans and landfills, but also in our air and water and soil, in our parents and kids and pets, and in our brains and hearts and semen. They are ubiquitous, but we are only slowly finding out how bad they are for us. There is a LOT of money and power being used by corporations to disinform us and hide any problems.
And this documentary does a very good job of showing at various levels – from global to cellular – how serious these problems truly are. It also shows how we have come to be here, what some solutions are, and what will change if we reduce the microplastics in our environment and our bodies.
Especially the infertile couples that managed to get pregnant or at least (massively) increased the male sperm count after significantly reducing their plastics-related toxicity was an eye-opener for me. It is not an official study, but the anecdotes are powerful, and I would not be surprised if there is a high correlation between having toxic chemicals in our bodies and our chances to get pregnant – with healthy children.
And I will be going through my kitchen and wardrobe to take the worst sources of microplastics out, and will be shopping differently from now on. This stuff has to go.
